In 1932 Roy Smith and Ernest Nutt purchased H&H Service Store, a full-service gas station located on the corner of Gloucester and Ellis Streets, from Mr. Hood and Mr. Harrington. They decided to keep the H&H name and began adding new products, first with the addition of tires and service. Appliances and TV's soon followed and appliance and TV service were added. Furniture became a new department in the early 1960's. In 1973, Bill Brunson, Mr. Smith's son in law became involved in the business and upon Mr. Smith's retirement, became president of the Company. In 1986, H&H moved across town to a renovated showroom at 4990 Altama Avenue and became known as H&H Furniture, Appliances, Electronics.
